[Philadelphia]: Commercial Museum, 1919. Unbound. Near Fine. Approximately 15.5" x 11.5". Just about fine. Professionally mounted on linen. Signed in the plate by H.T. Cubberley, about whom we can find no additional information. Original poster for an exhibition of naval aircraft at Philadelphia's Commercial Museum in 1919. Various aircraft are depicted in flight. Possibly done in-house for the museum, we have only seen or heard of one other example (on blue paper), and presume it to be rare.

The hardcover is has some light edge wear & is slightly faded with a little spotting. Inside the pages are clean and free from foxing. No inscription or ownership markings. No torn, loose or missing pages. Many illustrations in b/w and some colour plates. A large & heavy volume which weighs about 2.5kg with packaging so special postage rates apply for shipping overseas.

Carpenter was one of the original Mercury 7, and our fourth man in space. Carpenter went on to be an Aquanaut for the SeaLab Project. He was the author of two science fiction novels. Kris Stoever is Carpenter's daughter.

Corners a bit bumped, some wear along spine, with split below lower staple, otherwise very good. Founded by Maxim Gorky and published in the Soviet Union from 1930 to 1941 (and 1949), under the general editorship of G. Piatakov. An issue of this innovative periodical devoted to Soviet Civil Aviation. This is the French language edition, translator not identified. "All the visual strategies of the propaganda photobooks, designed by Lissitsky, Rodchenko and others were developed in USSR in Construction, one of the most beautifully produced magazines of the twentieth century" - Parr-Badger. Versions were also published in Russian, German and English. PARR-BADGER I:148.

A photo from the archives of the Los Angeles Examiner newspaper (1903-1962), with original press release still attached to the back, reading "MUNICH, GERMANY: COLONEL CHARLES LINDBERGH PICTURED WITH OTHER GUESTS WHILE ATTENDING THE OPENING SESSION OF THE LILIENTHAL SOCIETY CONGRESS HERE RECENTLY. Issued on the occasion of his "Home-coming Celebration" in Williamsburg on July 18, 1928. SIGNED ON FRONT COVER BY EARHART, GORDON, and STULTZ. 7.5 x 5.25" oblong cord-tied paperwraps with illustration of the soaring "Friendship" in red on front; 16 pages plus covers. The text covers Stultz's life and accomplishments in aviation and features black-and-white photographs including one of Amelia Earhart in flight gear on page 4. The 1906 volume has five pages with surface damage where pages had been stuck together (leaving a few words effaced); one leaf has a large chip to the fore-edge margin, affecting the last letters of some words; otherwise, the issues are in good condition.
