London: Smith, Elder and Co., 1878, 1880. Together 2 volumes. The fourth edition of the first volume, the first edition of the second volume. INSCRIBED IN EACH VOLUME BY BROWNING. 8vo, original sienna cloth lettered and decorated in gilt and black. xi, 348; vii, 371, [2]. The first volume has been expertly rebacked to match the original; the second has been recased with some restoration at the spine ends; both have new endpapers and bear the stamp of the College for Working Women. A very good set. AN INSCRIBED PRESENTATION COPY of each volume. The first is inscribed "To the Members of the Working Women's College with Robert Browning's kind regards, Jan. 14 '80." The second volume is inscribed "With Robert Browning's best respects and regards." Presentation copies of Browning's writings are quite scarce.

Watson Davis. 8vo, publisher’s original blue-gray cloth lettered and beautifully decorated in red and black with pictorial designs on the spine and upper cover, in a pictorially illustrated dustjacket from the Burt reprint edition circa 1914. 266, ads. A bright, clean and beautifully preserved copy of the book, the later dustjacket with light edgewear and a bit of mellowing but still in a very pleasing state of preservation. AN EARLY ZANE GREY TITLE. Intermingled with the main theme of the work of the Moravian missionaries in the Ohio Valley is a tender love story.

Nuremberg: Anton Koberger, 30 July, 1477. Very Early Printing of the Bible and only the second Latin Bible printed by Koberger, 51 lines and headline, double column, canon marginalia in the Gospels. With manuscript headlines in red, a beautiful opening initial of 10 lines with elaborate flourishes that flow from the very top to very bottom of the page in red, blue and green, numerous 6 line initials in red and blue, some with much longer extensions or flourishes, a profusion of 3 line initials in red or blue, red paragraph marks and additional rubricating throughout primarily in red. Royal folio (375 x 265mm approx), in contemporary German blind-stamped pigskin over thick wood boards, (probably a Nuremberg binding), the boards center-paneled and decorated in blind with a central tool within multiple borders, remnants of brass catches on the fore-edge. The engraved title-pages are dated 1804, but the engraved illustrations are dated 1790. Very probably then, this is an early setting with a newly dated title-page. With 19 engraved illustrations including a finely engraved vignette title-page to each volume, an engraved portrait of Defoe by Medland and 16 other beautifully engraved full page plates by Stothard. Two plates included here as additions are not called for in the collation and appear to have been printed first by Stockdale in 1791.
