London: Printed for J. Dodsley in Pall-Mall, 1791. Sixth Edition; New Edition. Leather. Substantial wear to leather bindings, but otherwise very good with prior owner name in ink to title pages but contents otherwise rather bright.. Largely lost to obscurity in modernity, Shenstone was of significant influence in the latter half of the eighteenth century. Volumes one and two are the sixth edition, with volume three the new edition (and which accords to ESTC). Fold out map and numerous plate illustrations throughout. Volume one contains "Elegies on several occasions. Odes, songs, ballads, &c. Levities, or pieces of humour. Moral pieces." Volume two contains "Essays on men and manners.
