Dedication page with color-printed floral garland and ink inscription “To Frances / April 1860” preceding frontispiece. Original publisher’s full morocco stamped richly in gilt on covers and backstrip, all edges gilt, plain yellow coated endpapers, occasional browning, hinges just slightly cracking. A pleasant edition of Milton including a few very reduced prints after the famous John Martin illustrations, but notable for being in a very attractive publisher’s de luxe trade binding. Not noted by King, McLean, or Morris and Levin.
