Hello fellow book lovers!
For the first time in a decade, I did not put any books on my holiday wish list. The usual custom is to let my family members know of five titles that I'm interested in receiving, and then they buy one. On Christmas Eve I rumble through the packages under the tree, trying to guess which book they picked.
But this year, I found some great books through chance events: a friend cleaning off her bookshelves, a lost-and-found bin, a book sale table. I stocked up on enough books to get me through the first half of 2009. So what did I ask for this Christmas? A few high-quality bookmarks, of course.
Here's wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season. I hope the new year brings you a wealth of literary treasures, no matter where you find them.
Enjoy!
