Throughout the years Kim has lived a crazy life as a popular DJ/Radio Air Personality. But it all started with Kim, as a little girl in Detroit, growing up not too far from 8 mile, the one Eminem made popular in a movie with the same title. In her bedroom, Kim would make believe she was a disc jockey. She had two turntables, a mic that hung from her ceiling, a tape recorder and a dream. She became friends with a DJ at WDRQ, a local radio station in Detroit. Kim would play her amateur radio shows for him over the phone when he was doing his radio shift from 6-10pm. He told her she had talent and would give her a job when she graduated from high school (this was at a time when very few women were on the air.) Kim attended summer school for two years so she could graduate one year early and move to Knoxville, Tennessee. It was in Knoxville where that Detroit DJ, then General Manager, Rockin' Ron Baptist had a job waiting for Kim, just like he promised he would. Kim's radio career has taken her all over the country. Over decades, she has been blessed with the opportunity to interview, meet and sometimes even befriend some of the movers and shakers in television, film and radio. Kim's life has not been a typical one. Kim's other interests include photography, music, and she also has a greeting card line. Kim currently lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan with her 5 cats and Harriet her bird.
