No inscription. lightly bumped at head and tail of spine else a VG+ copy in VG dustwrapper (similarly bumped to spine ends, lightly rubbed, no tears or loss but mark to front between the reproduced image and signature). still an attractive copy with excellent table appearance.. White cloth boards. 33pp text + 34 plates. 360mm x 310mm. 1.1kg. A biography of the noted bird-artist that is also well illustrated with colour plates of some of his works. The details of his theft of plates from books belonging to the Transvaal Museum and the resulting effects thereof are covered in detail. That his death was due to suicide as popularly believed is denied.
