Lincoln:: University of Nebraska Press,, 1979.. First Edition. Hardcover. Octavo in orange cloth stamped in black,. 341 pages illustrated by a few photographs, map. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR ON THE TITLE PAGE. An excellent, scholarly work on the industry that lived and died in conjunction with the much more glamorous mining history. An uncommon book. The book is clean, bright, sound and unworn. The jacket front and spine are significantly sunned (from orange to pink) with the foot of the spine faded to white and there is a narrow strip of bleaching at the head of the spine. The rear panel, still orange, has a three inch tear at bottom, and a narrow missing piece almost three inches deep and about an inch wide at the base. For all that, the jacket remains attractive and nearly complete.
