Their types of pottery have been traced back to prehistoric predecessors. The author traces the construction techniques of those documented ceramics to the lineage of their probable present-day master potters. He reconstructs the sales circuits traveled by the Catawba peddlers and illuminates unresolved questions regarding trade routes in the protohistoric period. He also details particular techniques of the representative potters- clay, tool, decoration, and firing techniques. A clean very presentable copy.
