Description:
New York: Ivan Obolensky, Inc., 1964. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. This is a stated first printing. The interior of the book is crisp and clean, showing just a few signs of previous use, but no marks or tears. The illustrated red covers are fresh, with very minor wear at tips and corners. Sadly, there is no dust jacket. Synopsis: This picture-book tells the story of Walter the dentist and his cat Hodge, who lived in Tahiti. The King of Tahiti was one of his customers, and when he ran out of money offered to exchange a small nearby island for new fillings. The island turned out to be full of rats, so Walter and Hodge imported thousands of cats to catch the rats. However, when the rats were gone, the cats turned on each other, and it took one of Hodge's brilliant ideas -- FISH ! -- to solve the problem.
