Dr Jimmy T (Gunny) LaBaume holds a BBA in Management and Accounting from The University of North Texas, MS in Animal Science and Agri-Business from Sul Ross State University and the PhD in Natural Resource (Range) Management and Economics from Texas Tech University. Dr LaBaume has spent the civilian side of his entire life, in one capacity or another, in agriculture (primarily cattle) ranching. This includes being born and raised in the business, holding important management positions (CFO and CEO) in some very large land and cattle companies, and owning and operating a ranch of his own. Retired from a 30 year university teaching and research career, Dr LaBaume is currently President and CEO of Land & Livestock International, Inc., an international corporation offering management and consulting services to the range livestock industry. Dr LaBaume is a highly decorated veteran of both the Vietnam War and Gulf War I. His Marine Corps career spanned some 35 years (off and on with a lot of broken and reserve time). Although he had less than two years to go to a good retirement, when his last re-enlistment came up, he refused to re-enlist. In his own words, he simply "got tired of being guilty of treason."
