Originally published in 1780, this is a collection of nursery rhymes of the times with wood-engravings by Thomas Bewick, Introduction and bibliographical notes by Nigel Tattersfield. 94pp. Designed in the 18th century to fit in the hands of a child, it is by far the most comprehensive and influential compilation of nursery rhymes.
