Fabrication of Nanostructures by Plasma Electrolysis Hardcover - 2010 - 1st Edition

by Mahmood Aliofkhazraei; Alireza Sabour Rouhaghdam

From the publisher

In this handbook and ready reference, the authors introduce the concept of plasma electrolysis, explaining how the coatings are characterized and discussing their mechanical and corrosion properties. They then go on to look at specific industrial applications of this powerful and low-cost method, including aerospace, the biomaterials industry as well as in the oil and gas industry.

From the rear cover

Plasma electrolysis is one of the new plasma treatments, which has recently attracted the attention of researchers and can be classified under atmospheric pressure plasma treatments. This process can produce surface coatings such as oxides, carbides, carbonitrides, and borides.
In this handbook and ready reference, the concept of plasma electrolysis is introduced, explaining how the coatings are characterized and discussing their mechanical and corrosion properties. Relation between this method and nanotechnology, which mainly came from size effect of fabricated nanostructures and their nanostructural aspects, have been discussed. Specific industrial applications of this powerful and low-cost method are examined, including usage in the aerospace, biomaterials industries as well as in the oil and gas industry.
