N. Nogawa "Manufacturer of Bronze Ware No. 22 Shijo Otabichio, Kyoto Japan

Hand-tinted Albumen print. 8" x 10" . Very good condition.Titled in the negative. Depicts 5 seated craftsmen engaging in metalwork. The Noboru Nogawa manufacturer was founded in 1825 and created and distributed fine metalwork objects from their shop as well as showrooms in the Kyoto and Miyako Hotels.

2) Possibly Ogawa, Kazumasa

"No. 102. Tame Deers in Kasuga Temple"

Hand-tinted Albumen print. 8" x 10" . Ink marks to left side of photograph affecting trees but not central image. Titled in the negative.

Depicts woman in traditional dress in a forest setting feeding wild deer. Kasuga Temple at Nara was (and still is) famous for its tame deer.

3) Photographer unknown

"Kamakura Daibutsu"

Hand-tinted Albumen print. 8" x 10" . Slightly faded with light overall wrinkling else in very good condition.Titled in the negative.

Depicts the seated Great Buddha of Kamakura

4) Photographer unknown

"Big Bell at Chionin,"

Albumen print. 8" x 10" . Short tear and crease upper right, cracked plate in negative lower right, small tear lower left. Titled in the negative.

Depicts the large bronze bell (also called "Yoshimizu's Bell) at the Chionin temple. It was cast at the Sanjo-Kamanza foundry. Figure of a caped man wearing a bowler hat lower left.
