There are cards of congratulation addressed to Don Hopkins, and photos of Don as a youngster playing guitar & trumpet (tipped in with a Valentine card from his father (Don Hopkins Sr.) "....Grandma tells me what swell music you can play. Boy howdy, you just keep that up for I am rearing to hear some of that swell music..." In 1950, after HS graduation, Don Hopkins enlisted in the Air Force. In 1951, he and his high school sweetheart, Edith Ann Roberts, marry; in the 1950s, they are photographed holding their own child.
