N.p.: N.p., 1966. Vintage oversize borderless double-weight matte-finish reference photograph from the 1966 film, showing actors Zero Mostel and Inga Neilsen. From the archive of the PIX Agency, a photo house that acted as an intermediary between emigre photographers (as well as those still living in Europe) and the American magazine and newspaper market between 1935-1969.
Based on the 1962 Broadway play with lyrics and music by Stephen Sondheim and book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart, which was loosely based on several farces written by ancient playwright Plautus. A slave named Pseudolus attempts to earn his freedom by uniting his young master and the unattainable girl next door.
Set in ancient Rome, shot on location in Spain.
