N.p.: Marilyn Monroe Productions, 1956. Vintage photograph of Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller shortly after cutting the cake at their wedding reception in 1956. Stamp of photographer Milton H. Greene on the verso, along with the stamps of Monroe's production company, Marilyn Monroe Productions.

Miller and Monroe were married at the Westchester County Courthouse, in White Plains, New York, on June 29, 1956. A small Jewish ceremony was held two days later at the home of Miller's Hollywood agent in Waccabuc, attended by 25 guests. The couple was married for five years before separating in 1961, after production wrapped for "The Misfits."

Milton H. Greene was a celebrity and fashion photographer best known for his now-iconic images of Marilyn Monroe. His early shoot with Monroe for Look magazine in 1953 changed the course of his career, and together they formed Marilyn Monroe Productions, an effort to wrest control of Monroe's career from avaricious Hollywood producers.

Description:
Beverly Hills, CA: United Artists, 1960. Vintage studio still photograph from the set of the 1961 film, showing actors Marilyn Monroe and Montgomery Clift between takes. Mimeo snipe on the verso crediting photographer Elliott Erwitt. A bleak, haunting film exploring the loss of independence, about a recent divorcée who enters into an unstable relationship with an aging cowboy whom she meets in the Nevada desert. The final completed feature for Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe before their deaths. Notoriously a trying endeavor for the actress, who was struggling with her drug problem and pending divorce from Arthur Miller and would often fail to show up to the set, and for director John Huston, who would drink and occasionally fall asleep while filming. Gable performed all of his own stunts, then suffered a heart attack only two days after filming ended and died ten days later. Shot on location in Nevada. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, with light wear and creasing overall.
