The House Select Committee on Assassinations was established in 1976 to investigate the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr., in 1963 and 1968, respectively. Investigations were completed in 1978, finding both assassinations the results of conspiracies, with no US government agency involved.
