Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Lettering is darkened. Minor sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Boards are bowed.

Moderate cracking to gutters causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Book is slightly bowed and forward leaning. Spine has light fraying and tanning with soft crushing to ends.

Colour frontispiece and b + w illustrations by Anton Lock. A couple of fox marks to the foredge, otherwise internally clean - a good 'reading copy' of an adventure story for children. . Mild sunning to board edges and moderate tanning to spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Mild warping to boards.

Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Light tanning to spine and edges.
