We invite you to join Biblio, the ABA, Shakespeare’s Globe, and a few thousand of your closest bookish friends in beautiful Battersea Park this June 7-9 during Rare Books London. Firsts London is the crown jewel in the series of literary events taking place during May and June, which also includes the PBFA London Antiquarian Book Fair (Thurs 6 June), London Map Fair (Sat 8 and Sun 9 June), ETC Bloomsbury Book Fair (Sun 9 June), the Ephemera Society Fair (Sun 2 June).

Firsts London features over 150 leading exhibitors from around the world who showcase rare and unique works in the realm of the printed word, from modern firsts to medieval manuscripts and ephemera to incunabula.

Booksellers of vintage and antiquarian books will offer their highlights while craftspeople and specialists will provide demonstrations of their art. Also in attendance will be New York-based collector and author John Wolfson who will be curating an exhibition at the fair of special selections drawn from his own collection of rare books and those from the Globe’s Library that rarely go on display. As the Globe’s Honorary Curator of Rare Books, Wolfson will give an exclusive talk, accompanied by actors, on the fair’s opening day.

“The sellers are friendly and enthusiastic about their books. Browsing is positively encouraged…”

Times Literary Supplement

Biblio is excited to partner with the ABA and Firsts London because we share the same goals: working with some of the finest booksellers in the world to help them reach a new audience of collectors, and cultivating a truly remarkable collection that strikes the perfect balance between quantity and quality of selection.

Pom Harrington, the Chairman of Firsts – London’s Rare Book Fair, said to Antiques Trade Gazette: “The official partner of Firsts London is not just about financial support, it’s having a company that fits with a fair representing independent booksellers. Biblio is that company. It is an independent marketplace, not corporate at all and so a great fit with a fair for fine booksellers, many of whom are sole traders.”

Firsts London at Battersea Evolution is open from noon – 8pm on Fri 7 June, 11am7pm on Sat 8 June, 11am5pm on Sun 9 June and also includes live demonstrations, tours and talks.
