For Booksellers

Booksellers! You can now create Free Shipping Sales and offer free shipping on selected inventory items!

You asked for it, and now it’s here! You can now offer free shipping on selected inventory items, and you can specify a date range for that offer.  You’ll use the same tools that already exist for setting up book sales, and you can offer free shipping alone OR in addition to a book price reduction!

Offering free domestic shipping is an effective tool for increasing sales.  You already have the option of entering zeros in your shipping matrix if you want to offer free shipping on all orders to specific shipping zones, and a lot of sellers are now offering free domestic shipping by doing just that.  We heard from many Biblio booksellers who liked that tool, but wanted a way to offer free domestic shipping on selected inventory items only.  Now you can create a book sale which includes all or just a portion of your inventory with free shipping as the discount you offer.  Your free shipping offer can be combined with a book price discount or stand alone.  You can include all your books in your free shipping sale, hand-pick individual items, or select portions of your inventory.  For details about setting up a free shipping sale, click here.  If you have any questions, you can get in touch with our support team by clicking here.

  • Oops. I just created a sale with free shipping for 7/12-7/19 but only then it occurred to me that this will include international orders. That will be prohibitively expensive (in most cases shipping will cost more than the book). Can I cancel this? This just won’t work. Free shipping should be domestic only by default; nobody can afford to offer free international shipping.
