About This Item
London: John Murray, 1895. Hardcover. Very Good. John Murray 1895, First Edition, 260pp, adverts (52pp), maps and plans including map and corrections request in rear pocket, original red cloth titled in gilt to front panel and spine. This copy also includes red silk marker which is complete but detached. The boards are lightly soiled but still bright and mostly clean; text is clean and tight. This copy shows John Murray as the publisher on the title page but Stanford on the spine and an Advertiser for 1903-04 indicating that Murray printed the stock and Stanford bound and issued it later. It was common practice to make a large print run and then bind and issue the Guides as needed binding in corrections as necessary. This is the first and only issue of this title. Lister 403
