Madison, Wisconsin: Ohio Gas Light Association, 1906. First Edition. Original Wraps. Good. Quarto, 10" tall, 204 pages + 36 b&w ads (actually many more ads intertextual), sewn binding, stiff dark gray wraps. A fabulous portrait of an industry come and gone, from a moment of its apex, with accounts of various businesses from around the country--Montana to Florida, California to Maine, state by state. From the Birmingham Railway, Light and Power Company of Alabama to Ripon Light and Water Company of Wisconsin. Includes pages on Canadian companies like the Barrie Gas Company of Ontario and St. John's Gas Light Company of Newfoundland. Truely unique. In good condition only overall, much of the interior in very good condition, but the cover is edge worn and lightly soiled, back strip badly chipped and cover loose; interior binding is secure, though canted, with paper lightly yellowed and mostly clean, but there is dampstaining visible to the first and last pages, only marginal at the rear and not damaging to text or ads.
