About This Item

Hollywood: Warner Brothers, 1937. First Edition. Very Good Plus/4-mil clear mylar envelope. This is an ORIGINAL movie still photograph for the movie "READY, WILLING AND ABLE", the 1937 Warner Brothers musical starring Ruby Keeler, Lee Dixon, Ross Alexander, Allen Jenkins and Louise Fazenda. Music and lyrics by Johnny Mercer and Richard Whiting. Directed by Ray Enright. 8" x 10". Black and White. Glossy finish. Movie caption at lower border. The photograph shows Ruby Keeler in tap shoes and a stylized sailor suit, kneeling in the foreground. Behind her are 35 chorus girls in tap shoes, and an orchestra behind them. "Dancing on a Typewriter" ("Too Marvelous For Words") with Keeler and Dixon can be seen today on YouTube. Tragically, co-star Ross Alexander took his own life before the picture was released. This photograph is without pinholes; slightly rubbed from handling, Closed tear with white tape repair on verso, but Very Good Plus or better, and now in a clear 4 mil mylar protective envelope.
