New York: The Vanguard Press, 1938. unpaginated. Red cloth spine with black boards, white lettering, red hat with white feather is on the front and rear panels. The front endpaper has the red hats going from smaller to large, left to right, the rear endpaper, red hats larger to smaller indicating a first state of the first edition. There is scuffing and wear through on the corners and bottom edges of the panels and spine. 1/2" liftoff, sticker ghost on the front panel, as well as stain on the upper part of the gutter. Internally the endpapers have some foxing, otherwise the pages and illustrations are clean, unmarked.
