Sub-titled "Being One of Elbert Hubbard's FamousLittle Journeys - To which is added for full measure a Tribute to the Mother of Lincoln".The binding is in nearly as new condition, very clean, firm, solid and square. there is one outline from an old bookmark on pages 32 and 33, textext still readable. Otherwise this little hand-made and hand-pressed book is very presentable. The DJ, of butcher paper, is admittedly in poor condition, heavily chipped along extremities and one large tear/chip on the front bottom edge, back panel is complete, though. A nice Roycrofter hand-made item.. Edition; None Stated; NAP. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Poor. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Hand Made.

Description:

The book cover almost appears hand made. It is stings of jute on hard cover. The pages show aging and are to be handled delicately.
I felt something when I held the book and began to read it touched my heart. Abe wrote years later "My mother worked steadily without complaining. She cooked, made clothing, planted litte garden. She coughed at times, and often would have to lie down. We did not know she was ill. One day when she was lying down she motioned me to come near. And when I stood by her bed she reached out one hand as if to embrace me, and pointing to my sister Sarah said in a whisper " Be good to her Abe!" And closed her eyes.
