About This Item

Toronto: McClelland and Stewart, 1996. First Edition . Cloth. Very Good/Very Good +. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. ix, 384 pp, illus, notes, biblio, index; previous owner's name on ffep, some cocking to spine, some light wear & soiling. [On page 192 of this copy the previous owner (cannot decipher his name, which is stamped on the front free endpaper) has highlighted (with an ink box) a paragraph about the Canadian fighter pilot Jerry Smith of Regina (KIA in 1942, he was the brother of the Canadian ace Roderick Smith). Taped under this highlighted paragraph was a photograph (of two unidientified young men in uniform) printed on blueprint paper with a notation on the back. The tape has been carefully removed from the book and the photo. The photo will be sold with the book. It is assumed that the photo is likely related to Jerry Smith.]
