Signed, without inscription, by George Zarn upon front free endpaper. Zarn was also known as "The Hired Hand at Idlewood Farm". "Set in southern rural Alberta, [this book] takes a nostalgic look at life during the Thirties for the folks living up and down Willow Creek. Today, this area boasts some of Alberta's finest ranching country, thriving in the heartland of the famous Chinook Winds. However, Willow Creek wasn't always as prosperous. But even through the Great Depression, the unique people of Willow Creek managed to survive; keeping intact a fierce pride and the welcome ability to find humor even in the seemingly hopeless situations which evolved.
