London: Printed for J Hartley, A Gibson; and Tho. Hodgson, 1702 A fair copy of the 1st edition in contemporary panelled calf. The binding is complete but very worn with splitting at the joints; a lot of wear and loss to spine ends and corners; and leather surface loss to the boards. There is the armorial bookplate of Strickland Freeman Esq of Fawley Court, Bucks, 1810 to the front pastedown endpaper. Strickland Freeman was a landowner and sportsman, and author of a number of works on horsemanship. Contents with title; dedication 4pp; preface 2pp; introduction 7pp; text pp 1-122; voyage to I-Columb pp 123- 144; title A Short Dissertation by Thomas Brown and text 147-175; errata; advert on final page. The contents are very clean and sound with lightly toned paper. There is occasional scholarly annotation.
