About This Item
Kraków: Instytut Architektury, 2013 8vo (22 cm), 160 pp, Laminated wrappers. In Polish. The work of Szyszko-Bohusz (1883 - 1948) perfectly illustrates the mental, cultural, artistic and political context in which modern architecture was born in Poland. He is one of the most important Polish architects of the first half of the twentieth century, who to a large extent shaped the space of modern Krakow, being at the same time one of the founders of the national myth of the revived Second Polish Republic. He was an extremely influential man, holding many important positions and realizing the most prestigious architectural projects of his time. The architect's work, built between tradition and the search for a new form in architecture, goes deeply to the essence of the processes taking place in the architecture of the early twentieth century.
