A thorough discussion of the ins and outs of adopting a Greyhound ex-racer, which adoption will probably save the dog from either immediate destruction or eventual destruction in a research laboratory. The importance of knowing how the dog was trained, fed, and cared for during its track life and how to modify or change those practices is stressed. Then on to how to choose the right dog, preparing the home, feeding, grooming, training, etc. The book also goes briefly into the proud history of the oldest of all purebred dog families. 148 pages. 9.4 x 6.25 inches.
