Black bindings, 1,777 pages total. Three ridges on each spine. Lettering, designs stamped with gorgeous accents of 22kt. gold - a hallmark of fine bookmaking. The leather was hand selected from individually tanned hides. Textured and shaded, acid-neutral paper won't turn yellow over time. Pages Smyth-sewn into binding for permanence (not glued like ordinary books). Edges gilded three sides to enhance elegance of the book. Endpapers are beautiful satin moiré, specially dyed for the publisher. Satin ribbon page marker bound in. Condition: Vol. I: Soft upper corner creases to first free endpaper and to preliminaries (through xii). All three volumes have minor scratches/rubbing to gilt on edges from shelving. Else three volume set in Near Fine condition. [While other books online have been read but still classified as fine or new, this book set was never read. It's Near Fine.] Kept in temperature-controlled bookcase.
