INSCRIBED by author on front endpaper "To: Gerry Lillie in appreciation of her never failing courtesy. Mr. Hennessy, April '66." A warm and perceptive account of the author's 20 years in Africa as British soldier and official - and his strong belief in the African's right to be free of colonial rule. No other markings to book and pages are clean and fine, bound in brown cloth hardcover with gilt spine lettering. Slight rubbing to spine ends and corners, otherwise cover is fine. Dust jacket, price intact on front flap, is clean though lightly toned and moderately edgworn with small chips, creases and short tears. Jacket is in a clear archival protector. Binding strong, hinges intact, spine and board straight. 5-1/2 x 8-1/4". 181 pages plus 8 pages of B/W photos. Signed by Author. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good.
