Rudolph Herzog. Berlin. [1916]. 4to. 132pp, on heavier paper + unused diary on a lighter weight, toned paper. Numerous illustrations in monochrome and colour. Original cream cloth, with black and gilt decoration to boards and spine. Decorative endpapers. Pencil holder. Slightly bumped to corners. Some slight discoloration to boards. Contains in addition to the calendars, the seating plans of the Berliner theatre, Berlin City maps etc. In addition a wealth of cultural contributions, such as theatre productions, festivals, costumes and fashions, museums and monuments, travel descriptions, local historical essays as well as other articles, including on military, naval and aviation incidents during the First World War, with photographs.
Rudolph Hertzog (1815-1894) German entrepreneur and founder of the famous department store in Berlin, producing an annual agenda of around 200 pages, which was overseen by Paul Lindenberg and Rudolf Pietsch, and others.
