About This Item

Sampson Low, Marston & Company Limited, London, 1929. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 332 pages (complete). An agreeable copy of this memoir of a soldier of extraordinary honour, of a prominent Scout leader of determination, courage and pacifism (he broke with Baden-Powell due to the militarism that the Scout movement was being moved towards). His honesty in face of official opposition in exposing the murder of civilians by a British officer during the Easter Rising has at least ensured his known status in the Irish Republic. The burgundy boards have some shelving wear to the corners and edges and seams. They have light scuffing and marking. They are steady, sound, sure. The contents are most pleasing. They are clean, clear, mellowed, thick, healthy and most confident of memory. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
