About This Item

The First UK printing published by Home and Van Thal, London in 1948. The BOOK is in near Fine condition with just a little pushing at the spine ends and slight offsetting to the end papers. A hint of toning to the text-block and page edges. Free from inscriptions. The scarce WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ condition. A little loss at the upper spine end and a closed tear to the lower spine end. Some tape repairs and reinforcement to the verso. The closed tears to the spine ends have a small piece of transparent tape to the front but this is hardly noticeable due to the black background of the cover design. The wrapper artwork by Stein looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The author's very scarce third novel. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
