SVEN LUDVIG LOVEN (1809 - 1895) was a Swedish marine zoologist and malacologist. The Sven Loven Centre for Marine Sciences at both Kristineberg and Tjärnö are named in his honor. He was first Keeper then Director of the Swedish National Museum in Stockholm. He was also Professor of Natural History at Stockholm University. This appears to be a veterinary science book with many bw illustrations of horse anatomy. Later chapters include other livestock, then a section completely devoted to hooves. Page of po notes laid in. Good: marble paper peeling off bottom corner of front board, starting to peel at back; po signature in ink on ffep and pencil marks in text; foxing on endpapers and pages yellowing with minor foxing or staining near edges. No finds online in English sites. Found on Scandinavian antiquarian site (http://www.antikvariat.net/dk/EBE11445.cgi), asking 150 pounds.
