Folio. 159, [1]pp. Original red cloth spine over red leatherette with gilt lettering and gold embossed illustration on front cover. Decorative endpapers. Photo-illustrated title-page. Exquisite work intended to be the most comprehensive collection of erotic images of pin-up style Parisian women at the turn of the 20th Century. This work is profusely illustrated throughout with 500 tinted photographic reproductions, many within decorative or illustrated frames, and numerous illustrations by J. Wely, F. Bac, and B. de Monvel. Includes 2 reproductions of posters designed by Grün for the Parisian cabaret "La Cigale" and for the "Grand Guignol" play performed at "Le Theatre Montmartre". The duotone photographs depict some of the most beautiful Parisian theater actresses and dancers of the period, such as: Luce Lhéry by Reutlinger; Lili Pinson, by Prof. Stebbing; Mademoiselle Laparcerie, by Reutlinger, etc. Slight age-wear on binding with minor abrasion on upper spine, and very few scratches on covers. Title-page slightly foxed. Previous owner's name on title-page. Text in German. Binding in overall good+, interior in very good condition.
