About This Item

San Francisco: HarperSanFrancisco, 1993. First American Edition. Near Fine/Very Good+. First edition, first printing. Signed by Paolo Coelho on the half-title page and inscribed to a former owner. Bound in publisher's dark blue paper-covered boards over dark blue spine cloth lettered in silver. Near Fine with light rubbing to covers and spine ends, in a Very Good+ unclipped dust jacket with spine fading, light wear, light creasing to top edge of rear panel and some small areas of transfer from the blue of the book onto the jacket's plain white blindside.

This book is a fable, told in simple language, of an Andalusian shepherd boy who forsakes his comfortable, predictable life and follows his dream. "I don’t live in either my past or my future. I’m interested only in the present. If you can concentrate always on the present, you’ll be a happy man. Life will be a party for you, a grand festival, because life is the moment we’re living now."

It is a very nice book and worth reading. It describes the struggle of a Sheppard and how successfully he achieved his dreams.
