[Milan?], 1825. First Edition. Broadside. Good. Broadside, approximately 16 x 24 cm. Unevenly trimmed, early folds and creases, small chip in lower margin (not affecting text or image). Portion of manuscript character (from inscription otherwise trimmed away) touching title, small inkstain (approximately 5 x 4 mm) in center of table, some wear and minor soiling. Good.
Pictorial table of the "Manual Alphabet of the Deaf-Mute," drawn and engraved in 1825 by Giovanni Bossi, who was himself deaf and mute. This is evidently the first printing of Bossi's table, which was adapted and re-engraved three years later for Giuseppe Bagutti's book, SU LO STATO FISICO INTELLETTUALE E MORALE, SU L'ISTRUZIONE E I DIRITTI LEGALI DEI SORDI E MUTI... (Milan, 1828). No copies located on OCLC. Scarce.
