by Washington Irving

Condition: See description

Philadelphia, PA John Wanamaker, 1880. Hardcover Very Good: shows moderate wear to the corner tips, where the leather has just started to wear through to expose the board beneath; overall light wear to the extremities; moderate rubbing; faint dampstaining at the lower portion of the backstrip and the red morocco quarter leather panels, and at the bottom edge, but the text block is unaffected; shows the very slightest spine lean; faint darkening to the fore-edge and bottom edge. The backstrip very lightly blanched, but the titles and gilt designs thereon remain bold and clearly legible. The binding is secure; the text is clean. Free of underlining, hi-lighting, notations, or marginalia. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A handsome copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing moderate wear and minor unobtrusive flaws. Bright and Clean. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. (7.75 x 5.5 x 1.45 inches). 946 pages. Quarter Red Morocco with raised bands and gilt designs titles to spine and leather reinforced corners and Lovely Marbled Boards and Endpapers. Top Edge Gilt.
