Octavo, original pictorial boards with pink cloth spines titled in gilt. 113 + 132 pp. Frontispieces plus illustrations throughout in red, all by Tenniel. Light fading to the spine panel of WONDERLAND, although it was issued in a slightly lighter toned pink cloth than LOOKING-GLASS in the first place; a very good, sound set in the original cardboard slipcases, the slipcase for LOOKING-GLASS slightly cracked at edges. Note: These are two separate volumes in two separate slipcases; we are aware of two-volume sets issued in a single slipcase; these were issued later. These are the correct first printings / issues.
