A fine copy in an attractive early binding by W H Smith, of half brown morocco. Spine with raised bands. Compartments lettered, ruled and fully decorated in gilt. Green cloth on boards. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Spine a little darkened to edges but overall a lovely copy in a fine and very attractive early twentieth century leather binding. This volume contains the literary works, as well as the letters of Lamb.

Virtue & Co. Ltd. London. Circa 1934. FIRST EDITION. Large 8vo. (11.3 x 8.7 inches). Fine copy in a fine leather binding of full dark green morocco. Spine with raised bands, decorated in gilt. Compartments ruled, decorated and lettered in gilt. Decorative double gilt borders on boards. Marbled endpapers. All edges dyed green. A few minor white marks on the front board otherwise a near fine mid twentieth century leather binding. Not signed but certainly by a master binder.

Nims and Knight. Troy. New York. 1889. Calendar printed on 18 stiff sheets of card. (5.9 x 4.5 inches). Complete. Each leaf has a litho colour illustration depicting a scene from Japanese life, printed after fine water colours by J. Pauline Sunter. Twelve of the cards have the month dates printed to the side of the illustration. The lithography is by G. H Beuk & Co, New York. The cards are held together by two metal rings through punched holes at the top, and have a white silk cord, with tassles, threaded through. The cards are stiff white coated paper with silver edges. The front card has damage to the two holes and is now not attached but all others are firmly in place. The front cover is also a little dusty but generally the whole calendar is very good and features some very attractive illustrations. A rare item. No copies listed on Worldcat.

(8.7 x 5.7 inches) .xiv,756pp. Neat previous owner name and date on front blank free endpaper, otherwise a fine clean copy throughout. Finely bound in full tan calf by Bayntun of Bath. Raised bands with gilt wavy lines on the spine. The compartments ruled and decorated in gilt. Red and green Morocco labels, double ruled and lettered in gilt. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Gilt inner dentelles. Faint mark to the front board and a crack to the inner front endpaper, but the board is firm and tight and there is no cracking to the leather. Overall a near fine copy of this classic work.

Compartments decorated, ruled and lettered in gilt. Triple gilt ruled border on boards. Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales arms stamped in gilt to the front board. Gilt inner dentelles. Dark green endpapers. All edges gilt. Spine faded to a mellow brown but overall a fine attractive binding.

R. H. Evans. London. 1810. NEW EDITION. The first Evans edition. 8vo. (7.6 x 5 inches). xxviii,352pp. A fine clean copy in attractive mid twentieth century leather binding, by T. F. Ford, of full brown calf. Spine decorated with gilt bands and piping and floral centre pieces in the compartments. Black label, gilt. Both boards with decorative border design in gilt and small black labels within a decorative design, lettered "T. F. F. 1943". Inner dentelles in gilt. Plain magnolia endpapers. Top edge gilt. A small neat ink note inside the rear cover states that the book was 'rebound by T F Ford 1943' and a neat five line inscription on the front free end-paper shows that the book was bound by Thomas F Ford, Architect and presented by his sons to Canon L B Tirrell on his retirement in November 1971. ---- 'Thomas Francis Ford. Inner boards with triple line border decorated in gilt with two decorative rolls and one ruled line and corner devices. Off-white silk patterned paper endpapers. Top edge gilt. A lovely copy in a beautiful early fine leather binding.

Finely bound by Zaehnsdorf in early half dark brown morocco. Spine with raised bands with floral gilt roll design. Compartments ruled and lettered in gilt. Floral patterned paper on the boards and endpapers. Top edge gilt, the others untrimmed. Original stiff paper wraps bound in. A very good copy in an attractive late nineteenth century leather binding that has some very light wear to the edges but is overall very good indeed.
