A very good copy bound in modern half calf. One repaired marginal tear to half-title; text otherwise in excellent condition. A survey of the Manchu alphabet by the French orientalist Louis-Mathieu Langlès, first published as a twenty-three page pamphlet in 1787, and subsequently revised for inclusion in Amiot's dictionary.
