About This Item

Székesfehérvár, 1985. 106pp. One of the deluxe edition of 25 copies. This striking and novel miniature book is printed entirely on folded sheets of aluminium foil. It commemorates the 5th Aluminium Conference, which was held in Hungary in May, 1985 in order to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Hungarian aluminium metallurgy. This keepsake presents a brief summary of the previous conferences and a survey of the activities of the Hungarian Mining and Metallurgical Society. Bilingual, with text in Hungarian and English. Bound in gray and silver metallic paper. The cover bears a hallmarked sterling silver plaque with the event's seal, and the title is stamped on the spine in blue foil. The plaque is slightly tarnished, but otherwise this fascinating book is in very fine condition. The aluminium foil pages are as bright as new. (Bromer/Edison, p.189). (2 by 1 5/8, 50x41mm.).
