The A.M.C. White Mountain Guide: A guide to paths in the White Mountains and adjacent regions

  • Used
  • very good
This is a rare, early 8th edition of "The A.M.C. White Mountain Guide" from 1931. This edition is one of only a few where the Guide was published with an illustrated front cover (the 7th and the 9th editions being the only others). The Guide comes with all of its maps, including the large folding map stored within a pouch on the inside back cover. "A Guide to Paths in the White Mountains and Adjacent Regions." Published by The Appalachian Mountain Club; Boston; 1931. Please see the photos for the complete list of contents. Great condition!

Condition:
Clean covers and spine with no stains; sharp corners; I am unsure if the book had originally been issued with colored letters and illustrations to the covers and spine but, if so, the coloring has since faded. Tight binding. Crack at hinge between the Copyright and Contents pages. The text pages are in great condition - mostly clean and white with only a thin stain strip at the top edge of a few of the pages at the back of the book. No writing, tears or foxing. All maps are present and in terrific condition - no tears found and all folding maps fold in/out easily with no tears. The map pouch on the inside back cover is firmly attached with no tears. Overall the book is in very good condition - buy with confidence! (NOTE: photo 1 of the front cover is actually a darker green than the image depicts; I used a close-up flash in order to show the illustration)
