1939. MacLEISH, Archibald. AMERICA WAS PROMISES. New York: Duell, Sloan & Pearce, Inc., (1939). First edition of the first title produced by this publishing firm, with pamphlet to that effect laid in. Small 8vo., blue cloth lettered in silver [24 pp]. Slight lean to the binding, else a fine, tight copy, in a spine-sunned dust jacket with a hint of wear to the edges and just slight soil. Pamphlet is quite scarce.
