About This Item
Indianapolis: The Bobbs Merrill Company, 1909. First Editiion. Hardcover. Very Good/Fair Jacket. Harrison Fisher, with Decoration By E. Stetson Crawford. 4to. Unpaginated, 92 pp with 21 full page (11 by 9 inch) plates of feminine goddesses of the early twentieth century (the kind of women one might imagine in a Ziegfeld Follies of the day). Other pages, with light verse paeans to these women, also the kind of lines that might have been recited in a Ziegfeld cheesecake production number, surrounded by lovely borders of roses, vines, etc. Front board with some soilage. A small close tear on one leaf and a tiniest of pinprick holes near edge of a leaf near the end. Generally clean and tight. DJ, now protected with mylar, has considerable soilage and a few chips, one being rather larger (2 inches at widest). On the other hand, DJ comes with ribbon "To My Valentine" which is extremely rare. A very good copy overall.
