Bound in contemporary calf with red morocco title label on the spine; spine desiccated and darkened; weak at the center; front board has been tastefully reattached; rear board weak; lacking initial advertisement leaf; toning to some signatures, but largely a clean copy;. Anonymous tract penned by Pownall, a British official sympathetic to the American colonists and Governor of the Province of the Massachusetts Bay. Bound with "Observations on the Nature of Civil Liberty..." by Richard Price. London: printed for T. Cadell, 1776. Third edition. [8], 128p. Half title is present; contents are clean and bright.
