Wear to binder covers, previous owner's name stamped on a few pages and bookplate on inside front cover of binder. The topics are: "The American-Japanese Problem" (two addresses: 1914, Bulletin No. 67. October 15th. 1914); "Asia's Appeal to America" with "A Call for Comprehensive Immigration Legislation" (1915); "Hawaii's American-Japanese Problem" (1915). The 1914 addresses are introduced as "A fresh and sane discussion of one of the greatest questions of the day. Prof. Gulick recognizes the justice of California's demand to be saved from danger of an overwhelming Asiatic immigration and also the justice of Japan's demand to be accorded treatment free from invidious race discrimination." Laid in is a small folding sheet advertising Gulick's book "The Fight for Peace" published by the Federal Council of the Churches of Christ in America, in which "Dr. Gulick shows conclusively that justice and good will are essential prerequisites for international peace. He shows also how America as a nation can and must do its part in establishing right feelings and attitudes between the nations." In a note, Gulick notes his teaching experience (Lecturer: Imperial University, Kyoto) in Japan. .
